8, 3052: Our Mission Begins
By the year 3OOO, human greed had depleted the earth of
almost all of its natural resources. The continents of North
and South America housed what was left of these resources,
and I realized that a great war would soon be waged for
their control.
It
is for this reason that I organized the Genesis Society,
the first and only conservation group solely devoted to
the preservation of the human race. To date, the Society,s
membership has grown to 15,000, and includes many of the
worlds foremost experts from a multitude of disciplines.
With their expertise and the highest technological advancements
known to mankind, we set out to create a self-sufficient
underground environment that would provide an opportunity
for the human race to survive the effects of such a war.
This biostation was completed two years ago and has been
self-sufficient since.
The
outbreak of World War V is imminent. Our inability to live
in harmony with each other and our environment has finally
led to our fall from grace.
The
time has come for the members of the Genesis Society to
protect the future generations of the human race. Today,
we seal ourselves into our safe haven, hereby relinquishing
our claim as the supreme beings of the planet. Should our
race survive and one day emerge from the biostation, may
our future generations study these chronicles and learn
from our mistakes.
